Yes, Primeval returns in 3 weeks! If you haven't watched this cool BBC program, I think the Sci-Fi channel is rerunning the first 2 seasons - I don't know what day or time.

Primeval - Episode 13 - Season Finale

The team realizes they are in a facility designed by Leek to capture and control creatures from the anomalies - especially creatures from the future.

Cutter is separated from the team and brought before Leek. This is when he realizes Helen has been on Leek's side all along.

In a separate area, Caroline is thrown in with Abby and Conner. Caroline and Abby proceed to have a "chick fight" over the fate of Rex. Later, Jenny is brought to the confinement area as the four await their fates.

Cutter manages to pour water on Leek's main computer, forcing him to connect with his laptop. Unknown to Leek, Conner had rigged Leek's laptop to download all it's info to the ARC when Leek activates it.

At the ARC, a creature has been reported on a family beach, and Lester is forced to call Stephen to take care of the problem. After Stephen captures the creature, he receives a call from Helen. Helen claims she was kidnapped by Lester and that Cutter and the gang are dead. She convinces Stephen to come get her (remember, she is with Leek), and to not trust Lester.

Just as Leek is ready to feed Abby, Conner, Jenny and Caroline to the creatures, they make a miraculous escape. They run into Rex who shows them the way out of Leek's building.

Stephen realizes at the last minute that Helen lied to him, when he discovers that Cutter is alive. I'm not going to give away the ending, because it was such a shock to me, you should see it for yourself.

The season finale leaves me with the following impressions:

--Helen is still a bitch and is only out for her best interests.
--Because of the research done by Helen and Leek, all is not what it seems and the future can be changed.
--Cutter may be over his feelings for Claudia Brown, but now he has feelings for the recently un-engaged Jenny.
--Abby and Conner have a tighter bond.

I can't wait for the next season to start. I know that taping is underway, but I have no idea when the new season will air in America.

Primeval - Episode #12

(from BBC) You may remember from last week, Cutter discovered conclusive evidence that someone has been following the team and spying on them. He has long suspected that someone on the team has a hidden agenda; his suspicions fall on either Jenny or Lester.

At the same time, Stephen is visited by a very unwelcome guest - Helen. Swearing him to secrecy about her presence, she tells Stephen she needs his help with a project that will affect the whole future of the world. Stephen is suspicious and reluctant, and he wants to tell Cutter, but Helen swears him to secrecy. Helen gradually begins to win Stephen over.

After a routine malfunction, Connor investigates the anomaly detector and finds it has been sabotaged. Cutter takes the opportunity to set a trap, letting only Connor, Stephen, and Abby in on his plan. They fake the appearance of an anomaly to see who will go to it first, knowing that whoever it is must be the traitor. Cutter is shocked when it is Jenny who arrives. When the team confront her Jenny claims to have no idea what they are talking about, but Cutter does not believe her....

Primeval - Episode #11

(from BBC) Taylor, an eleven-year-old girl, and her dog are sent to get fish and chips, but she gets more than soggy batter when she sees an anomaly in a nearby alley. She enters it and finds a whole new world of rocky terrain, desert and twinkling stars. But her wonderment quickly turns to horror when the sand rises up like a monster and starts chasing her dog. The terrified little girl screams.

Meanwhile, things in our world seem pretty quiet. Leek is alone at headquarters, and the gang are enjoying a "normal" night off in their respective lives. That is until the detector alerts them to the new anomaly. By the time the gang congregate at headquarters, however, the detector has crashed, and they have no idea where the anomaly has formed...nor where Leek is. Cutter suspects foul play, but there is no time for conspiracy theories - they must get the detector working and find the anomaly before any incursions occur.

As Cutter waits impatiently for Connor to fix the machine, Leek is at the site instructing heavily armed mercenaries to carry out some kind of secret mission. The men pass through the anomaly and see Taylor waving frantically at them. They ignore her - but Taylor isn't asking for help, she's trying to warn them. She's too late. The men's screams and gunfire echo in the darkness until the desert swallows them, leaving nothing but their scattered weapons and a deathly silence...

Primeval - Episode 9

This episode starts out in a paintball field at an amusement part; something is prowling the undergrowth. The hidden animal makes low growls and finally charges its prey.

Connor and Cutter have finally developed an anomaly detector using the principals they learned from the radio signals. Lester and Leek are not impressed, because the detector appears to be a failure. A report comes in about a supposed creature attack, but the detector shows no sign of an anomaly. Connor has faith in his detector, so he tries to find other reasons for the alarm failing to go off.

Along the perimeter of the amusement part, the woods have been cordoned off by police investigating the paintballer attack. Valerie, the deputy manager of the resort, paces nervously. Jenny coaches her in what to tell the media, and Valerie is keen to evacuate the guests - but her management bosses will not let her. Cutter comes to the conclusion that the creature is some kind of large cat.

This is the first episode that did not have a current anomoly. Without giving away too many spoilers, the creature in this episode did indeed come from an anomoly, but it happened years before these attacks.

In other storylines, Connor's new "girlfriend" appears to be in league with Leek. I can't figure out what she is up to. Stephen has been receiving text messages from Helen - what the hell is that all about? Does Helen keep popping into the current world to borrow a cell phone? And we learn that Abby can drive a mean backhoe and handle a tranquilzer gun in an emergency. With only 4 more episodes left of this season, I hope some of the storylines are wrapped up, because I don't know how long it will be before we can start watching Season 3.

Primeval - Episode 8

Cutter and the team are joined by a new PR guru, Jenny Lewis (who looks exactly like Claudia Brown). Sharp, cynical, and witty, she almost immediately develops a sparky and adversarial relationship with Cutter.

Meanwhile, Connor is picked up in a video store by a beautiful young woman called Caroline. Poised, well-connected, and effortlessly sexy, Caroline is everything Connor is not, and her interest in him is all the more surprising for it. I am already suspcious of her, so I'm curious to see what she is after! Obviously, Abby is feeling the same way I do because right from the beginning she is uneasy around Caroline, for reasons even she herself doesn't quite understand.

But on to this week's story, a gleaming new skyscraper in the center of the city has quickly developed a reputation for teething problems in its electronics, so no one is surprised when smoke is spotted creeping out from the server room. On inspection, the janitor finds a thick layer of mist hugging the floor and a foul sulfurous smell - but no fire. Then something moves in the mist and he is suddenly yanked out of sight by a shadowy creature. The mist continues to spread through the building and huge ancient worms are lurking in the mist.

These are easily the ugliest creatures so for on this show - huge, long bodies with spikes and a retractable head that suck onto its prey - eghhhhh! Several of our team members get physically attacked by these icky worms.

On other insteresting news, Helen is a bitch! I don't like her and I don't like the fact that she is still after Stephen. She's been gone for 8 years, why doesn't she stay gone? Also, remember the janitor from the Rapter episode? The one who was attacked in the throat just before Connor shot Abby with the tranquilizer? He has showed up as one of Lester's drones at the ARC. What is that all about? Hopefully, all these questions will be answered in later episodes.

Primeval - Episode 7

Season 1, Episode 7







The opening scene has two secruity guards monitoring survillance cameras at a local shopping mall, when something on the CCTV monitor grabs the attention. One guard heads to the bowling alley to investigate, only to be attacked by a ferocious Jurassic-era Utahraptor. The second guard goes in search of the first guard, only to also be attacked. Anomalies? They're back ...

At the future anomaly site from last week, Cutter grapples with Claudia Brown's disappearance. No one but Cutter has any idea who Claudia is, or was. Cutter finds a new second-in-command has taken Claudia's place in the team - the oily Oliver Leek. Not only that, but the team now has a headquarters. A hi-tech, highly sophisticated operations base called the Anomaly Research Center, or ARC.

No one believes Cutter - although Conner does start to believe - when he tries to explain that the present has altered, resulting in Claudia's disappearance. In fact, they think he has gone crazy. But there is not time for talk, as the team gets a call reporting the creature incursion at the shopping mall.

Again, Conner and Abby provide the comic relief in this wonderful series. Pouting because Abby and Stephen won't let him carry a tranquilizer gun, Conner is the first to encounter the Raptor, barely escaping under a security door. Later, while escourting a cleaning person from the mall, Abby finally gives in to Conner and allows him to search the locker room with the gun. Bet you can guess what happens?...Conner ends up shoting Abby in the leg with a tranquilizer, before subduing a baby Raptor. Abby spends a large portion of this episode unconcious.

In the end, the Raptors are returned to the anomaly, and Cutter has every intention of staying in the past. But Stephen follows Cutter into the anomaly and convinces him to return. As the anomaly starts to close, Cutter makes it through, but Stephens foot is caught by a Raptor in the past. The team manages to pull Stephen through and the anomoly closes, cutting off the Raptor's head.

Back at ARC, the team learns Lester has hired a PR person to help with the publicity surrounding the anomolies and the subsequent creatures. Jenny Lewis is the new PR person - and she looks exactly like Claudia Brown.

Primeval - Episode 6

The team meets its most terrifying adversary yet - a predator from the future...

At the original anomaly in the forest, the Special Forces find a wrecked metal fence. Something has been through. At the zoo, a strange and horrible creature attacks the lions. Later, something mysterious watches Abby feeding the elephants. Luckily for her, it moves on to her boss, Tim Parker, who doesn't fare so well.

At the Home Office, Claudia reassures Lester of Cutter's capability. At the university, Helen approaches Stephen: she wants a meeting with Cutter and Lester, and she has information on three missing persons linked to a creature.

The blood analysis taken from the lion pen reveals the strange creature to be bat, and this baffles the scientists - that is, until Helen informs Cutter, Claudia, and Lester of a new creature threat - from the future. She denies knowing how it arrived and wants to help. Back at their house, Cutter questions Helen further about her motives and discovers that she accidentally lured the creature into the present day.

Primeval - Episode 5

Tonight's episode was the most exciting - and funny - so far of the series!

When a golfer cuts his hand on a thorn during a day on the course, he is chased down the green by a mysterious flying object and dragged into the air. Claudia arrives on the scene and instructs Special Forces to seal the perimeter. Cutter and Stephen arrive on the scene, and from the state of the golfer's body, it looks like another dangerous predator is on the loose. They manage to track down the location of this latest anomaly, but it is many feet up in the sky. As they ponder how to cordon it off, a Pteranodon swoops through.



That was an awesome episode! The one liners were funny as usual and Connor losing Rex was hilarious.

Connor: ‘Rex! I swear, when I catch you, you're gonna be the first animal to become extinct twice!’

Talk about busted!

Nick, Stephen and Claudia on the roof top was so funny! The scene with Stephen and the dung - priceless. Him looking at and tasting the dung as Ryan and the soliders cringe - too funny! And in a twist of fate, Helen turns up at the right moment, happily surprising Claudia. Just when I thought Helen was a selfish person, she does something to change my mind.

On a romantic note, Cutter admits his feelings for Claudia - is he falling in love with her? From the goodbye kiss he gives her, I think the feelings may be mutual.

This show just keeps getting better and better!

Primeval - Episode 4

Episode 4





A flock of dodos come squawking through an anomaly under a football stadium but they may not be as innocent as they look. Lurking deep inside them is a deadly parasite just bursting to get out. Why is it there is never a nice, safe prehistoric animal?

Helen Cutter - now in custody at the Home Office - is refusing to co-operate with Lester and is furious with Cutter for helping to entrap her. Lester is such a bastard - he's the character you just love to hate! Helen is the only one who understands how the anomalies work but for now she's keeping her secrets safe.

Claudia dislikes Helen, wary of her motives and deep down jealous of her apparent hold over Cutter. You can see the attraction growing every week between Cutter and Claudia. However, Claudia puts her skepticism aside, giving Helen the chance to redeem herself. But instead of helping, Helen uses the anomaly to escape, leaving in her wake, not a pack of vicious carnivores as everyone expected - but a flock of dodos. Contrary to reputation, these birds are far from harmless as Connor's suspicious friends are about to discover.

Connor's secret life, full of late night excursions, mystery phone calls and friendships with girls is really starting to bug his friends. They set out on a covert mission to discover what's really going on. They steal a dodo, unaware that it's carrying a deadly parasite and with one bite, Connor's friend Tom is infected. Can the others find him before a pandemic is unleashed?

Tom finds himself struggling with the urge to attack. A staunch conspiracy theorist - even worse than Hodgins on the FOX series BONES - he seeks out Abby for answers. Time's running out and Lester's livid. Did Cutter know of Helen's planned escape? Did Helen unleash the contaminated birds on purpose? Cutter knows she's ruthless but surely she's not capable of this? He wants answers more than anyone but will he ever see Helen again?

A frantic race ensues to find Abby before it's too late... Will they make it? Can Tom be saved? The dangerous reality of the anomalies is about to hit Connor hard. Is he strong enough to go on?

After only 4 episodes I am totally in love with this series. Part time travel, part mystersy, all action, suspense and romance rolled into one great show!

Primeval - Episode 3

Cutter is desperate to make Lester realize how dangerous anomalies could become to humanity, but, infuriatingly, Lester remains optimistic that this problem will disappear just as quickly as it arrived. However, the arrival of a vicious sea creature (a Mosasaur) at a local swimming pool means bad news all around, particularly for a pair of young lifeguards flouting the heavy-petting ban. The young man becomes the Mosasaur's next meal while his girlfriend is charged with his murder. When the boy's regurgitated body is found in a nearby reservoir, Cutter realizes they've got another prehistoric killer on their hands.

If that were not bad enough, the anomaly through which the Mosasaur came is a mobile one, and it has moved from the swimming pool to the depths of the reservoir. The team works hard to find and contain it, but how can you plug a leak in time?

When a military diver working alongside the team disappears into the darkness of the anomaly and another ferocious Mososaur is unleashed to attack an unsuspecting Abby, it is clear that the reservoir has become a death trap. Will Connor find the strength to protect the love of his life, and where will the anomaly move to next? Cutter thinks the anomaly is running along a kind of temporal fault line, but without proof Lester is quick to dismiss his ideas as outlandish.

Meanwhile, a young mother who lives along Cutter's predicted line is putting on her washing in the basement when she notices a small leak, which quickly turns into a flood. When she sends a plumber down to investigate, she has no idea that a Cretaceous Era predator is lurking under the water, ready to pounce.

But there are more surprises to come. The anomaly in the cellar expels the body of the lost diver, and there is a message tied to his corpse from Helen Cutter. Claudia's suspicions are suddenly confirmed: Helen is still alive. A furious confrontation with Cutter reveals his awareness of her existence. Now he must pay the price for his betrayal. Lester delivers the ultimatum - bring her back or you're out.

Cutter reluctantly agrees and, for the first time in eight years, he comes face to face with his estranged wife, who seems to be quite happy living in the past. The elusive Helen tries to entice him to stay and explore her brave new world, but what is really on her agenda? Can she be willing to let thousands die in the jaws of prehistoric killers rather than return and share her priceless knowledge? A bitter confrontation between the spouses leads to Cutter's rejection of his wife's proposition. But as he leaves to make his way back through the anomaly, a violent attack by a 20-foot Mososaur nearly maroons him permanently in the past. When he awakes in the present, he finds he didn't come back alone?

Cutter starts to suspect that his missing wife Helen knew about the anomaly. While everyone presumes the discovery of her camera, millions of years in the past, confirms her death, Cutter is developing an entirely different theory...


Lester is growing increasingly skeptical of "loose cannon" Cutter, but Claudia defends him as their only expert, and Lester reluctantly agrees to keep him involved - for now. Emotions are running high in this shared world of secrets and suspense, and everyone is getting a little hot under the collar.

While Lester may suspect Claudia has ulterior motives for keeping Cutter on board, Abby is hoping that Stephen might start to see her as more than just the "lizard girl"...

Primeval Series Premiere

With the deterioration of American television into the drivel that is reality TV hell, the BBC is giving the world of the televeision drama a run for it's money. Following the succes of Robin Hood, MI5, Hex, Doctor Who and Top Gear, our friends from across the pond are now giving us Primeval. This series first aired in England in February 2007, but had its American debut tonight on BBC America.

A rip in the time-space continuum allows prehistoric creatures from the past to enter the 21st century. Professor Nick Cutter (Douglas Henshall) and his team are investigating the sighting of what seems to be an extinct dinosaur. They travel to the Forest of Dean, where it was seen, to explain how it appeared and discover an even stranger phenomenon, while the escaped creature is on a killing spree.

While Cutter and his team struggle to keep the looming disaster under wraps, Cutter also has to deal the fact that his wife, Helen (Juliet Aubrey), a fellow scientist who disappeared eight years ago, is not dead as he believed. In fact, she's been traveling through time. However, now she's back, and she holds the key to the riddle of the anomalies. But is it something she's willing to share? If not, what does she really want? Why did she come back?

Cutter, his research assistant Stephen Hart (James Murray), , zoologist Abby Maitland (Hannah Spearritt), and student paleontologist Connor Temple (Andrew-Lee Potts) race to understand what's happening, while government bureaucrats James Lester and Claudia Brown (Lucy Brown) insist they have to keep the danger secret from the public. As the past threatens to invade the present and destroy the future, Cutter's crew faces a life-and-death race against time.

But the first question which needs answering is where on earth are these creatures coming from? Are they an evolutionary throwback? Or an experimental hybrid perhaps? The truth is even more incredible than they first theorized. As they follow a creature through the forest, the creature inadvertently leads the team to the answer. A shimmering in the air, a distortion in the light, and, suddenly, the creture disappears before them.

They have found the truth, but how can it be possible? Can they really be looking at a rip in time - an anomaly, which leads back to prehistoric times? Can creatures come through from their own era into ours, and if so, can humans go the other way? There's only one way to find out and Cutter is determined to make the trip, convinced that the answer to his wife's disappearance could lie on the other side...

After the first episode, I'm hooked! I can't wait for next week's installment. Primeval looks to have a long life on our side of the pond.
