We Are Robin Hood

I'm almost too overcome for words! OMG! I did not see that ending coming.

Robin and his Gang arrive in the Holy Land; but the Sheriff, Guy of Gisborne, and Marian are already there. When Robin warns the King of the impending threat to his life, the Sheriff is one step ahead having sent the King a secret message that Robin is a threat. Instead of a warm welcome, Robin and the Gang are accused of treason against the King. The King orders the execution of our heroes, but decides to let the desert exact the punishment. The six are tied to poles and left to suffer the consequences of the desert.

Marian makes a final attempt to redeem Gisborne, telling him if he kills the Sheriff, he will have everything he wants, including her. Will fear of the Sheriff or the smell of power win the struggle for Gisborne? I was surprised that Gisborne finally turned away from Marian and followed the Sheriff. I thought for sure, Guy would be tempted by Marian's offer. Instead, he betrays her to the Sheriff.

The battle for England is on. Will Robin be released in time to save the King's life? Yes. Will Marian escape from the clutches of the Sheriff and Gisborne? No. High stakes and, ultimately, tragedy ensue ... the season ends, in the finest tradition of season finales everywhere, with a marriage, a death, and a parting of friends.

But I'm not happy!!!

I have wanted Robin and Marian to get together from the very first episode, so why did they finally get married, only to have Giborne of all people, take her life? I'm not sure the series can stand the death of Marian - she, not Robin, is the heart and soul of the show.

So, now - what will happen to Robin in Season 3? What will happen to Gisborne? Gisborne was so close to being a good guy and having his dreams come true - I don't think he will ever be the same again. And what of the Sheriff? Now that the King knows the truth, how will the Sheriff be able to hid from all his enemies.

The finale revelations and envitable subsequent cast changes will make for an interesting start to Robin Hood Season 3. Good news for all female fans of the show: Guy of Gisbourne (Richard Armitage) survives to fight another day, but Robin Hood (Jonas Armstrong) is set to leave the series after Season 3. With Djaq staying in the Holy Land with Will,(thanks to everyone who caught my Freudian slip in the original post - of course I can tell the difference between Will and Alan) who will be that strong female lead the show so deparately needs? Marian (Lucy Griffiths) will be sorely missed.

It's A Good Day To Die

"A Good Day to Die, Part 1"



Robin and the Outlaws arrive at a barn in Nettleton for Robin's surprise birthday party, only to find that the surpise is on them. They become surrounded by the Sheriff's mercenaries. After deciding to fight the mercenaries at first light, the Outlaws share their secrets with one another - Djaq finally admits her love for Will Scarlet and he returns her affections. I've been waiting all season for this!



Back in Nottingham, the Sheriff and Gisbourne are planning a trip to the Holy Land to kill the King. Allan-A-Dale, realizes that the Sheriff and Gisborne are heading to the Holy Land, and he has conflicting thoughts about what to do. The fearless Marian takes it upon herself to stop the Sheriff in his tracks and she attempts to assassinate him, but fails and is finally exposed as a traitor. The Sheriff holds her prisoner and takes her along for the trip to the Holy Land.

Allan must finally choose his allegiance. After a late night visit to Marian, he does her bidding and flees to Nettleton to warn Robin. With the help of Allan, the Outlaws escape the mercenaries and start their journey to the Holy Land to stop the Sheriff.

Next Saturday is the exciting conclusion of Season 2. According to the previews, one member of Robin's gang will pay the ultimate price ... who will it be?

Treasure of the Nation

Robin Hood - Season 2, Episode #11

The Sheriff has turned Locksley into a garrison, throwing its people out to make room for an army of vicious mercenaries. As Robin and the Outlaws formulate a plan to stop them, they are intercepted by three of the King's Guards, led by the fearsome Legrand who brings a vital message from King Richard. King Richard has sent coded information concealing plans to move his "thesaurus patriae" (Treasure of the Nation). Faced with a difficult decision, Robin decides that he must help the King, even if it means forsaking Locksley.
Marian, however, believes that Locksley must be protected, and the Nightwatchman goes into action, wreaking vengeance on the mercenaries. Gisborne and Allan predict trouble, and Marian finds herself trapped and unmasked by Gisborne. Her secret is out and Gisborne swears she will die as punishment for her treachery. Fearing her execution, Marian tries in vain to escape. In the end, she is spared by two unlikely saviors.

Robin is cornered too - the Sheriff has already killed Legrand's contact, and the man Robin meets is the Sheriff's spy. Everyone is in for a surprise when King Richard's treasure is revealed. The thesaurus patriae - treasure of the nation - is none other than the Queen Mother herself. Taking a liking to "Big Bear" - Little John - the Queen proves to be a faithful and loyal servant to her son, King Richard, plotting with Robin and his gang to foil Prince John and the Sheriff's plans.

With only two more episodes before the end of season two, Robin Hood has proven to be a worthy show living up to its expections of danger, loyalty and love.

Walkabout

Season 2, Episode 10

Tormented by Robin, the Sheriff sleepwalks into Sherwood Forest on the day that Prince John's messenger, Jasper, arrives to check all is well in Nottingham. By the time Gisborne raises the alarm, Prince John's private army is on its way, ready to burn Nottingham at sunset.

Drastic action is called for, so while keeping up appearances with Jasper, Gisborne and Marian secretly task Robin with tracking down the Sheriff in the forest.

Meanwhile, the Sheriff is getting to grips with nature and embarks on a journey of rediscovery. When he comes across some scheming beggars - a mother and her 3 children - intent on fleecing Robin, he realizes he can get his hands on the Pact at last. Little John is fooled by the Sheriff's blind, poor-man disguise and allows the enemy into the heart of the camp. As sunset and oblivion draw closer, and Prince John's army looms on the horizon, Gisborne risks his life standing by Marian as they fight together to save the people of Nottingham. Only Robin can truly save them.

We are all too swiftly coming to the end of this season; there are only 2 more episodes. Lucy Griffiths - who plays Marian - is rumored to not return for a 3rd season, but I really hope this is just a rumor. Marian is a wonderful role model for young girls - and big girls like me!
