(From IMDB) Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is a 1965 film directed by Russ Meyer, who also wrote the script with Jack Moran. It stars Tura Satana, Haji, and Lori Williams.
The film features gratuitous violence, sexuality, provocative gender roles, and campy dialogue - everything you've come to expect from a B-movie. It has become a cult film favorite and has been widely referred to in pop culture.
It is one of Meyer's more provocatively titled and explicitly exploitative films, yet unlike most of his films, it does not contain explicit nudity.
In this film, three thrill-seeking go-go dancers — Billie (Lori Williams), Rosie (Haji), and their leader, Varla (Tura Satana) — encounter a young couple in the desert while drag racing. After killing the boyfriend (Ray Barlow) with her bare hands, Varla drugs, binds, gags and kidnaps his girlfriend, Linda (Susan Bernard). On a desolate highway, the four stop at a gas station, where they see an old man (Stuart Lancaster) and his muscular, dimwitted son, known as the Vegetable (Dennis Busch). The gas station attendant (Mickey Foxx) tells the women that the old man and his two sons live on a decrepit ranch with a hidden cache of money. The film deteriorates from here into a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek violent caper that will leave you wanting more.
As of July 2008, there is talk in the New York Post and Variety of a Quentin Tarantino - one of my favorite writers and directors - remake of the film. Porn star Tera Patrick was rumoured to be Tarantino's first choice for lead role, but now it looks like Britney Spears has been announced as the actress to play Varla. Isn't that like getting your porn star/celebrity all rolled into one?
Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! is the perfect movie to have on at a party, where everyone can get in to the B-movie violence and action. Anyone who is a Quentin Tarantino fan needs to watch this movie to prepare for his interpretation, hopefully premiering in 2010.
